D-Day 80 Memorial

This is a special place for you to share memories and photos of your loved ones who were involved in D-Day - and the wider war effort.

“…the spirit of the people, resolute, dedicated, burned like a bright flame, lit surely from those unseen fires which nothing can quench.”  King George VI, 6 June 1944 (D-Day)

Bob was part of the Ox and Bucks regiment who took part in the D-Day landings on day one. Bob though was transferred out to the Military police just a few days before his colleagues sailed. His Troup were virtually wiped out on D-Day. Bob would never speak of the war.
