Jack landed on Sword Beach 9.55 with the 2nd Battalion Royal Warwickshire Regiment. He had aready served with the BEF and left Dunkirk on the 30/5/40. They fought to Pegasus Bridge leaving D company there. Fighting though Hermanville to attack Liebsey. This attack was repelled as the German Panzer Grendiers had arrived to defend the woods. It was another month before it was taken. Jack was lost 20/7/44 at Emieville. He charged a machine gun on his own with a Bren gun. He rests in Rainville.
