Dad was Coxswain on LCT 1092 destined for Sword Beach on DDay. His load that day was 6 Hobart "funnies" tanks. 2 x Sherman Flail tanks, 4 x AVRE tanks these "belonged " to A squadron 22 Dragoons. Dad first met these guys when LCT 1092 was loaded at Stokes Bay. He never spoke of that day in any depth. His only recollection was getting the LCT onto the beach and unloading the tanks. He spoke of the respect he had for the crews as they LCT. Brave men He called them despite the crew of LCT as brave.
