This is a special place for you to share memories and photos of your loved ones who were involved in D-Day - and the wider war effort.

“…the spirit of the people, resolute, dedicated, burned like a bright flame, lit surely from those unseen fires which nothing can quench.”  King George VI, 6 June 1944 (D-Day)

My late father was in the RAF and one of the few British to land with the US on Omaha beach. He was hit on the beach by a sniper and shrapnel to his back. He lay until taken the next day to a field hospital. Returned to the UK to recover. Sky Tv recorded his story for the 50th Anniversary of D-Day. He went on to Borneo where he intercepted Japanese messages, later guarding Japanese PoW until the end of the war.
