Dad landed on Gold Beach on D-Day - he was 20 years old. Wounded after making it a way inland. Brought back to the beach and given the last rites before being shipped home to a hospital in Birmingham. Met Mum and married in 1945. Lived the rest of his life affected by his injuries. Passed in 2005 and is missed everyday.
