Remembering my grandfather and his fellow friends, comrades who served in the Pioneer Corps and had the task of clearing up after the main assault. Deemed to old to fight at 36 he was a veteran of WW1 and served in the 1st Battalion DCLI. During WW2 with the Pioneer Corps he was at Dunkirk, North Africa, Scilly and Italy. I thank him and all who served during these terrible times to let us have families of our own.
