This is a special place for you to share memories and photos of your loved ones who were involved in D-Day - and the wider war effort.

“…the spirit of the people, resolute, dedicated, burned like a bright flame, lit surely from those unseen fires which nothing can quench.”  King George VI, 6 June 1944 (D-Day)

My father fought with two regiments, 2nd Battalion Northamptonshire and then 2nd Battalion Devonshire . Normandy was his third beach landing after Operation Ironclad in Madagascar and Operation Husky in Sicily. Like all those individuals he fought alongside he was a brave man fighting for the freedom of the country he loved. I lost my father in a tragic accident less than twenty years after WW2 ended but he has never been forgotten by his family and those who knew him.
