D-Day 80 Memorial

This is a special place for you to share memories and photos of your loved ones who were involved in D-Day - and the wider war effort.

“…the spirit of the people, resolute, dedicated, burned like a bright flame, lit surely from those unseen fires which nothing can quench.”  King George VI, 6 June 1944 (D-Day)

My next door neighbour, he landed on Gold beach on d day he was from the Welsh Fusiliers 😀 I now own his Normandy anniversary medal from 1994. I wrote this poem for him, he loved it and his wife had the vicar read it at his funeral, I was so proud of my neighbour Fred Jackson xx
