Joining the Navy at 18yrs old, he served on the Destroyer "HMS Undaunted - R53" throughout the war. On 5 June 1944, Undaunted escorted convoys all through the night, across the English Channel heading for Gold Beach. On D-Day itself, it participated in the fire cover, support and rescue of the British troops. You rarely spoke of it, but thank you Dad, for everything. You are my hero.
