My Grandfather who was with the Northumberland fusiliers landed in Normandy on the second day. And ending up at the relief of Bergan Belsan. At one point he was trapped behind enemy lines for several days as he did not want to leave his wounded comrade, we found this out when his comrade came to his funeral in 1960. He never said much about what he seen or the things he did. To me he was my Hero .
