Proud of the life line man ,run the rope to shore on juno beach ,3 times ,trod on beach mine ,he showed commanders it could be done,dived down to unwrapp parachute tangled around port screw ,on landingcraft infantry large 242 under command of Alan villiers,A squadron ,assault group L3.mentioned in despatches,along with other crew members,
