This is a special place for you to share memories and photos of your loved ones who were involved in D-Day - and the wider war effort.

“…the spirit of the people, resolute, dedicated, burned like a bright flame, lit surely from those unseen fires which nothing can quench.”  King George VI, 6 June 1944 (D-Day)

Vince served on the staff of Field Marshal Montgomery and sailed to Normandy. Although he preferred not to talk too much about his experience he did recall the shock of seeing the total destruction of Caen. He marched through France and into Germany, stopping by the notorious Belsin concentration camp where his Jewish American colleague was ordered to enter the site. After the war he put his language and secretarial skills to good use as a teacher at Newport College, Wales.
