This is a special place for you to share memories and photos of your loved ones who were involved in D-Day - and the wider war effort.

“…the spirit of the people, resolute, dedicated, burned like a bright flame, lit surely from those unseen fires which nothing can quench.”  King George VI, 6 June 1944 (D-Day)

Part of 2nd Battalion Royal Ulster Rifles and attached to 9th British Infantry Brigade Headquarters as Camp Commandant, Dad landed on Sword Queen White at around midday on 6th June as part of the third wave. He saw it through all the way to Bremen and the end of the War, only leaving his unit briefly to travel to Scotland and marry my Mum in February 1945. Rarely spoke about the War and lost some good friends along the way. Quis Separabit
