Ray joined the RAF at 16 in early 1940. Once his training was complete he spent most of the war at 135 M.U. in Egypt. He lost a lot of friends and some family members during the war. After the war he remained in the RAF working on the V-Bombers until his retirement in 1979. Thank you for your dedication to your service Grandad, we are proud of you.
