Clifford served as a Flight Engineer on 582 (Pathfinder) Squadron. He completed many operations over France and Germany, losing many friends during the war and gained a DFC while on 582 Sqn. He survived the war, but was sadly killed in 1946 when the plane he was in crashed into the sea in Malaysia and is remembered on the Runnymede Memorial. Rest in Peace Mac, Grandad missed his best friend a lot.
