D-Day 80 Memorial

This is a special place for you to share memories and photos of your loved ones who were involved in D-Day - and the wider war effort.

“…the spirit of the people, resolute, dedicated, burned like a bright flame, lit surely from those unseen fires which nothing can quench.”  King George VI, 6 June 1944 (D-Day)

While you always said that if you had been there (World War II) you never wanted to remember it. Forgive me for wanting to remember you, your and all servicemen and women’s sacrifices that allows me to do so. For giving me and the rest of our family the opportunity to remember you and say “Thank You”.

Harry Cross (Acting Sergeant - Royal Marine)
