Dad was only 20 when he guided a Landing Craft ( LCT 863) onto Sword Beach in the early hours of D- Day. In the following days and weeks, he made many crossings back and forth to Normandy - and even missed his Wedding day ! Mum had no idea where he was , but some time later his craft was sunk and he got home on survivors leave for a few days- and they got married at last! They went on to enjoy 71 years of love together, until their deaths in 2015, only weeks apart .. ♥️♥️
