My Dad landed on Sword Beach on D2. He use to talk to me, I think it helped, he told me, the sea was red. He got through the war, but eventually he paid the price, he could not sleep and his health declined. He use to say to me, „I can never understand how one human being can inflict such atrocities on another“ Mum told me after he died, his unit helped liberate Bergen Belson. He said to me many times, it will happen again. I’m so proud of my Dad, he is a hero, I wish I could of told him that!
