As a former electrician serving in HMS Anzio, a tank landing ship, I have some idea of how it must have felt to hit the beach in a landing craft and under tremendous fire make an assault on the enemy. Those men had undergone vigorous training for the task but still required dedication and bravery to carry out the mission. Their willingness to leave their loved ones and stand into danger was matched by the willingness of their loved ones to let them go. We must never forget such dedication to dut
