Ron joined the RNVR at HMS King Alfred (Hove) prior to the War. He served on HMS Vanessa, HMS Panther, HMS Rodney, HMS Panther again, then on D Day was Coxwain for a Landing Craft Tank. Even after all this, he had the most terrific sense of humour and fun, I don’t remember ever seeing him without a smile on his face. He loved family board game nights and was an excellent party host. He married his sweatheart Pat in 1947. A terrific Dad, Granddad, Brother, Uncle & Foster Parent. 1920-1998 TJW x
