D-Day 80 Memorial

This is a special place for you to share memories and photos of your loved ones who were involved in D-Day - and the wider war effort.

“…the spirit of the people, resolute, dedicated, burned like a bright flame, lit surely from those unseen fires which nothing can quench.”  King George VI, 6 June 1944 (D-Day)

Dad was one of the lucky ones, who managed to come home safely. After he retired he became involved with the Hull NBA and became their Chair, helping to organise the annual pilgrimage to France, Belgium and Holland. He helped to raise the profile of the war, only to educate and for people not to forget. He always believed how important our allies were and still are today. Never to be forgotten. Died at the age of 98.
