D-Day 80 Memorial

This is a special place for you to share memories and photos of your loved ones who were involved in D-Day - and the wider war effort.

“…the spirit of the people, resolute, dedicated, burned like a bright flame, lit surely from those unseen fires which nothing can quench.”  King George VI, 6 June 1944 (D-Day)

You never spoke of the war. The memories were too painful and I can't imagine what you would have had to witness as one so young, but you served your country and lived the rest of your life in peace. You were my inspiration, and I hope I have lived up to your expectations. We will always be thankful for what you gave. Lest we forget.
