This is a special place for you to share memories and photos of your loved ones who were involved in D-Day - and the wider war effort.

“…the spirit of the people, resolute, dedicated, burned like a bright flame, lit surely from those unseen fires which nothing can quench.”  King George VI, 6 June 1944 (D-Day)

Dad was in the Gloucestershire Regiment, he was seconded to the Canadians as he had seen action and was with them to help them get ashore, he wore a Polar Bear insignia on his arm and landed with them on Juno Beach, he stayed with the Canadians for quit a while as they made there way inland, he was awarded the Military Medal whilst on the Journey and was immensely proud to have received and to have done his bit, however he never spoke about it much apart from the fact that he was on D Day.
