Tribute to your nerves of steel in having helped with the recovery of US Servicemen following the German torpedo attack in Operation Tiger he went on to keep the engines running below deck on HMS Selkirk, a minehunter, as it cleared Channel 4 for the US landing at Omaha Beach and channel 34 thereafter RIP now you never have to recall those days of horror and triumph
